Gift cards and vouchers
A gift card that shows what's left.
A gift card or voucher in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, with its balance on the front, updated after every purchase, and a link to top it up.

What you get
Everything a gift card needs.
The balance, always there
What's left on the card, up front, so nobody has to ask or check a website.
Updated after every purchase
Your till or shop sends the new balance and the card changes on the phone.
Told when it changes
"Your balance is now £18.50" on the lock screen after each purchase, if you like.
Top up from the card
On iOS 27, an Add to Balance action beneath the card opens your top-up page.
A code for the till
The card number as a barcode, in whatever format your till reads.
Expiry on the card
Give it an end date and Wallet shows when it expires.
How it works
From gift to spend
- 1
Design the card
Your brand, the balance up front, and terms on the back.
- 2
Issue one per gift
From your shop or till through the API, each with its own number and balance.
- 3
Send new balances
After each purchase or top-up, and the card keeps up.
Questions
Does WalletPassAPI hold or process the money?
No. The balance lives in your own system; the card shows it, and you send the new balance when it changes.
Can people top up from the card?
On iOS 27, an Add to Balance featured action opens your top-up page from beneath the card. On Google Wallet it's a link on the pass.
Can the card be given to someone else?
Yes, by sending them its link before it's added. Apple Wallet's share button can be turned on or off for each pass.
What does the till scan?
A QR, PDF417, Aztec or Code 128 barcode holding the card's number, whichever your till reads.
